The Estate

We are a boutique, family-owned wine producer, nestled in the hills of beautiful Mudgee, NSW.

The name ‘Moothi’ comes from the Wiradjuri language meaning ‘nest in the hills’. The Moore family chose this parcel of land in 1995 due to the ideal soils and position for growing grapes along with the picturesque view of Mudgee township and the surrounding area. The Moothi Estate cellar door was built in 2006 with renovations completed in 2018.

Moothi’s vineyards were originally planted with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay but the range has since been expanded to include Pinot Grigio, Riesling and Viognier. We now have 17 hectares (42 acres) under vine which equates to approximately 37,500 individual vines. Harvest can begin as early as January and continues until late March. Once harvested, our grapes travel to our winemaker's to be crushed, pressed, fermented and bottled.

We are passionate about local produce and often use seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs from our gardens in the kitchen.
